The bill containing the amendments envisaged to be made within the scope of combating violence against women and violence in health was presented to the Turkish Grand National Assembly on 16 March 2022. The proposal was criticized by many segments, from academia to civil society, for different reasons. The government, on the other hand, believes that these changes will be extremely effective in preventing crimes against women and healthcare workers and punishing the perpetrators.
