La Strada SiCura: “Social, Humanitarian and Migration Medicine”

La Strada SiCura is a community founded in Trieste, Italy, by a group of doctors with the goal of eliminating health discrimination. The community is a newly established NGO who targets disadvantaged groups such as migrants. Their work is mainly located near the train station of Trieste, offering treatment opportunities and material support such as food and clothing to migrants walking through the Balkan route. We talked to the community about their organizations and their areas of activity.

Like art institutions, artists also go through rough days due to culture and arts activities being stopped by Coronavirus measures. We talked with the Artist Support Platform established under the leadership of musician Hüseyin Aygün together with the composer and songwriter Can Kazaz and actor Yiğit Sertdemir on what Coronavirus days will bring for the art world. Although the artists are both spiritually and financially anxious, they believe that the pressure of today will be replaced by new creations, excitement and by a system free from old mistakes.

Volunteer cyclists took action in Izmir to meet the needs of people over 65 years old as well as people with disabilities and people with other special needs, such as daily market shopping and medical supplies. We talked to BisiKoop (Cyclists Cooperative) Chairman Ahmet Çelikörs and one of the partners of the project BISUDER (Bicycle Transportation Association) Chairman Caner Çetinkaya and to Mustafa Karakuş on behalf of BUGEP (Bicycle Transportation Development Platform).
