40 Men Founded an Association do Defend Gender Equality

40 men from different ages and occupations founded Yanındayız (We are with You) Association to fight against all obstacles and prejudices that cause gender inequality and sexual discrimination.

The association, founded by a woman, is a first in Turkey. Other founding members of the association are men.

President of the Board of Directors is Nur Ger, who is known for her works on gender equality. At the launching event, she explained the founding story of the association. “Yanındayız is the first Non-Governmental Organization, mostly consisting men and advocating for gender equality. The target group is men. The primary objective of the association is to create mentality and behavioral change particularly in men,” said Ger in her speech.
