Factory Owner Got Prison Sentence After Dismissing Unionized Workers

The owner of a textile factory operating in Adıyaman received prison sentence for preventing union rights after dismissing unionized workers.
According to the news report of Ahmet Kıvanç from Haber Türk, in 2010, 128 workers were dismissed due to joining Öz İplik-İş Trade Union. 12 of the workers filed reemployment lawsuit and they won their cased.
The Court has decided to give prison sentence to the owner for preventing workers’ right, but first reduced the sentence to 2 years and then postponed it.
