Documentary about the Struggle for Nature Called “Path of Tears” Is Now Online

Path of Tears is a documentary which shows the effects of hydroelectric power plants, Green Road, Coastal Road and mining projects on the citizens, culture, ecology, nature and life in the Black Sea region. It can be watched online.
Directed by Engin Türkyılmaz from Ege University-Faculty of Communication, the documentary focuses on the story of “Mother Havva”, who is known for her discourse “I am the State”.
Shot in İstanbul, Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gümüşhane, the documentary received 12 awards in various film festivals. Its duration is 30 minutes and it is named after Indian tribes which struggled against mining companies in 1830s.
