“As Women Who Have a Word to Say, Struggle to Fight and Demands to be Met; We Are More than a Percentage”

Women represent more percentage in the society but they face a lot of obstacles in the political area. Women have united to make their voices heard no matter what they face.

“We are the half of the world but our demands, rights and struggles are neglected,” they say and now they have established a work group called “Yüzde Çoğuz” (More than a Percentage). They describe themselves as a feminist work group and their aim is to raise their objections against male dominated political arena.

“Political people think about women only from an election to another, and it is already lacking. Although they put an emphasis on ‘female votes’ during a certain period before the elections, the ruling political mindset still neglects women’s problems and demands. That’s why we have decided to establish this work group and make women’s struggles, demands, expectations and objections visible.”
