Continuing the Struggle for MUNZUR

"Munzur Shall Run Free" committee, which was founded for the protection of Munzur River that is attempted to be destroyed with inapprehensible reasons although it is the one of the most beautiful valleys in Turkey and it has a national park in it, has called for cancellation of dam project which would damage the cultural heritage and nature of Dersim.

Part of the press statement of Munzur Shall Run Free is as follows:

“Munzur River is a common culture and a heritage of humankind. Nobody has a right to destroy our culture and never can. The dam projects planned to be carried out on Munzur River, which has been flowing freely for hundreds of thousands of years, should be cancelled immediately. Capitalism is attacking our valleys and our living spaces under the color of energy, but riches become richer by attacking us with thousands of HES projects, poisoning out nature with dozens of thermal and nuclear power plants. Venomous mining works are like cancer viruses.”
