TED Ankara College said “Children Will Not Be Silent”

Ted Ankara College Foundation School gathered together its 6000 students, managers and teachers in İncek Campus’ Stadium for saying stop to violence and abuse against children. They formed their motto “#childrenwillnotbesilent” with their placards and made a mass demonstration.

TED Ankara College started a social media campaign to make children heard about their demands of preventing child abuse and putting an urgent action plan into practice. They used the hash tag “#çocuklarsusmasın” (can roughly be translated as “children will not be silent”.

One student from middle school and another from high school read the statement and called the attention to children’s right to be safe and protected from abuse.

The statement:

“Dear friends,

Our primary duty as individuals is to protect our existence and dignity. Any verbal, physical force or a single improper behaviour directed at our self-respect and personality should be disclosed. We should not be silent in such situations. No matter what the problem is we should share it with our families, teachers or school managers. Any behaviour causing child abuse is unacceptable no matter what the circumstances are. It is only possible to prevent this by raising awareness among the public. We, as students of TED Ankara College Foundation Schools, want to turn our sensitivity into a common voice and regard this as our social duty.

#ÇOCUKLARSUSMASIN

Kind regards,
Students of TED Ankara College Foundation Schools”
