14 Eylül 2018
Hasankeyf, an ancient town and district located along the Tigris River in the Batman Province in southeastern Turkey, is sacrificed to dam construction.
The town will submerge soon. That’s why; historical artifacts are being transported to a nearby archeopark. After Zeynel Bey Cupola and Artuklu Bath, Imam Abdullah Zawiyah was transported recently. Locals watched its transportation in tears.
Selime Tapkan (65) from Hasankeyf was in tears when talking about the Zawiyah: “We’d been neighbors to the tomb for years. Now, it is far from us. We are sorry to see it being transported. We will visit it wherever they take it.”
