Trans Woman Esra Ateş Was Commemorated Where She Was Murdered

Activists commemorated trans woman Esra Ateş in the area she was murdered. She was murdered in the entrance of her apartment İn Beyoglu/Istanbul, only one km away from the police station.

Her friends and activists gathered by the call of Nakka LGBTI+ said that they knew who the murderers were. “People who killed Esra, tortured and killed Begüm in Bursa, who burned Hande Kader to death, who led Eylül Cansın to commit suicide, who beheaded Muhammed Wisam Sankari are the same! We are aware that trans murders are a result of male-dominated LGBTI+fobic and militarist system. We struggle against this system itself!”
