Two Women from Turkey Are Invited to Y20 Summit in Argentina

The Y20 Summit is a young leaders international diplomatic forum in the high level G20 head of state summit. It is a platform for young generation from across the G20 countries to discuss global problems, find solutions and submit them to the most important national leaders in the world.  

We interviewed Yağmur Bayındır, one of the two women participants from Turkey, about her civil society studies and her objectives.

Could you give a brief information about yourself?

I studied Political Sciences at university and participated in many organizations throughout my university years. Some of those organizations are TurkishWIN, Academy for Social Entrepreneur Young Leaders (SOGLA), The Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGIDER), ICF. I have been a part of civil society studies for about five years and now doing a master’s degree on international relations in Bilkent University

What is Y20?

The Y20 brings together young leaders from across G20 countries – building their skills and networks, and identifying the most pressing economic challenges and opportunities facing young people today. The Y20 is a forum for developing cooperation with the future generation, and provides a platform for young people to have their voices heard on issues relevant to the G20 agenda.

The Y20 Summit is an international youth conference that brings together young leaders representing the G20. The Summits enable the young generation to put their concerns and solutions on the global agenda.

What are your objectives for the future after the summit?

I will practice my best to contribute to the empowerment of civil society in Turkey and expand the outcomes of the summit.  I will continue my works in civil society organizations in Turkey and provide support in youth and social responsibility projects.
